Student Union
It is the system through which students practice various activities (social - cultural - artistic ........... etc.)
Student unions are formed from students of faculties and university institutes where they enrolled in to obtain a Bachelor or License degree, and who pay union fees annually.
Student Unions aim to achieve the following:
-Developing spiritual and moral values and patriotic and national awareness among students and accustom them to leadership. Allowing them to express their opinions in a responsible way.
-Spreading a healthy university spirit among students, and strengthening the links between them and the faculty and staff.
-Discovering students' talents, abilities and skills, and encouraging them.
-Encouraging the formation of student families and cooperative societies, and supporting their activities.
- Organizing sports, social, scouting, artistic and cultural activities and raising their level.
The Faculty Student Union Council seeks to achieve the goals through the following committees:
Families Committee and Students Union
Sports Activity
Cultural and Media Activity
Technical Activity
Public Service Committee
Social Activity and Trips
Scientific and Technological Activities
A decision is issued by the president of the university to determine the dates for the student union elections. Those who apply for candidacy for membership of the union council committees are required to meet the following conditions:
Have Egyptian Nationality
Have good character and good reputation
To be a regular student new to his year and not remain to be re-elected for any reason
The student must have successfully passed the last two semesters.
Have paid the union fee
Have a noticeable activity in the field of work of the committee in which he is nominated
He has not previously been subject to disciplinary judgments
The application for candidacy shall be (in writing) by editing a form prepared by the university for this. The application for candidacy shall be submitted to the Student Welfare Office of the faculty in return for a receipt of a serial number. The candidate may not modify his candidacy from one committee to another after submitting the application for nomination.
Election Conditions
The attendance of at least 50% of the students who have the right to vote for each academic group separately.
If the number is not complete, the elections will be postponed to another date for a period of three days at most. In this case, the attendance of at least 20% of the voters is required for the validity of the elections.
If it is not possible to form a faculty student union council for the aforementioned reason, the Dean appoints a council to manage the affairs of the union, including elements of excellent students in study and in the union’s activity and those who meet the conditions for nomination.
The Faculty Student Union Council is responsible for the following:
-Applying the policy of the Students' Union in the light of the programs provided by the committees.
-Adopting the work programs of the various committees of the Federation Council and following up on their implementation.
-Endorsing the Federation's final accounts.
-Distributing financial appropriations to committees and setting the annual budget for the council and its committees.
-Coordinating work between the committees of the Faculty union council.
-Authenticating relations with other student unions at the university's faculties.
-Electing a Secretary and Assistant Secretary for the Federation Council from among its student members.
The Faculty Students’ Union Council is formed annually under the leadership of the Dean or whomever he delegates among the faculty members and whose members are:
-Pioneers of the committees of the Federation Council among the faculty members.
-Student secretaries and assistant secretaries of the committees of the Union Council.
-Students elect members of the council, including a secretary and an assistant secretary for the council.
-The head of the technical staff for Youth Welfare in the Faculty attends the council’s meetings, and who is Board Treasurer.
